Dress Rehearsal
Dress rehearsal begins at 9am and will run approximately 3-4 hours.
Please arrive at 8:15am with hair, makeup, and costume on.
All dancers must check in at the check in table (located in the lobby). Dancers not in combo classes are required to stay backstage in their appropriate dressing room, and may leave at the end of rehearsal. Please bring snacks, water, games, and other activities to keep dancers busy.
Combo parents may sit in the audience seats with their dancer until it is time to rehearse, and may leave once they practice their bows. Please be sure that any other family members or children you have with you are sitting in their seats and being respectful of the dancers on stage. If your dancer is in another class (outside of combo) they will be required to stay until the end of rehearsal.
Parents are by no means permitted behind the check-in table unless assigned to be there by Alle. Please be courteous and follow these rules. Running a dance recital is like a well-oiled machine and we need all people in the right places, with no extra bodies.
Hair is to be gelled down into a low pony tail. Dancers with short hair may secure their hair away from their face with little ponytails on top of the head, or bobby pin their hair to the side. Dancers with textured hair may have their hair back in braids or a slicked back pony tail. Boys with longer hair may gel and hairspray their bangs to the side.
Makeup is preferred, as the bright stage lights can wash out a dancer's face. Do whatever amount you are comfortable with. Generally dancers like a red/pink gloss or lipstick, blush, and mascara. I ask that we use no colors like blue, green, purple, yellow, etc. Stick to reds, pinks, and neutrals please. Boy dancers are not required to wear makeup, but of course are allowed if desired!
All dancers must be in nude tights. If your dancer wears underwear under their costume, we ask that you choose a neutral color that will not be seen if it peeks out from the brief portion of the costume. The last thing we want is a dancer to be embarrassed by undergarments.
Recital
Please arrive at 12:15pm. An adult must be present to check your dancer out at the end of the show. Please be patient, we need to be sure each dancer goes home with the correct adult.
Much like dress rehearsal, combo dancers may sit with their parents in the audience on their lap. They will need to be brought backstage 5 dances ahead of time. We will let you know what dance that is when you check in your dancer before the show. Your combo dancer will perform their bows at intermission, and may be picked up in the lobby after the curtain closes to return to your lap.
Makeup, hair, and costume should be done the same as dress rehearsal.
Doors will open 45 minutes prior to showtime. There will be absolutely zero tolerance for saving seats. If items are placed on seats prior to doors opening, they will be removed and placed in the lobby. If the doors are open and you are waiting on a couple family members, you may then place a jacket on the seat next to you. Please remember, we are not in a sell-out situation. There will be plenty of seats for everyone!
Company Dancers
Please follow Company Team hair, make up, tights, undergarments, socks, shoes, etc. as you would for competition. No changes will be made for recital (i.e. no hair changes) but hair pieces will be required as usual.
